| If your Wodometer looks like this: |
|
Then you want the previous version of this instruction sheet found: HERE. |
The Wodometer consists of a Sigma Bike Computer calibrated for a Wodent Wheel and a sticky-back magnet for mounting on the back of a wheel. The bike computer has been programmed to display the speed and distance for a particular size Wodent Wheel. The sticker on the back indicates the wheel size. If you wish to program for a different wheel size, or if you replace the battery (it should last about three years), refer to Programming below.
Finally, install the wheel so it can't shift and the back of the wheel
is near a wall of the cage. Route the wire so there's no way that your
critter can get to it or the sensor.
This is the most important part of the installation
critters WILL chew the wire if they can get to it. This probably won't
hurt them unless they scarf down an awful lot, but it won't do them any
good and it'll certainly wreck the Wodometer. (If this happens, you can
repair it by replacing the leads not fun.)
First, remove the back cover of the bike computer (the part where the
wire is attached) by unscrewing it about 1/8 turn. This exposes the back of the
module. (At this point you can also see where the battery is
located.) Looking at the back of the module, you can see a tiny little
soft-rubber dimple in the upper-right corner with a circled S next to it.
This dimple is actually a SET button that is best pressed by using a ball-point pen. (If you use
something sharp like a pencil point, you'll
probably poke a hole in the soft rubber cover.)
Any of the display values or the wheel size can be changed by pushing
and holding the SET button for about three seconds when the display is
in the appropriate mode. To get the display in the right mode for
setting the wheel size, push the red MODE button until there's a little
M in a black box in the lower-left corner of the display. Now, flip
the module over and press and hold that SET button for about 3 seconds.
The display will blink SET and MPH in the upper-right corner. By
pressing the red MODE button, you can change that to KMH if you prefer
using kilometers. After selecting
either MPH or KMH, press the little SET button again. The bottom part of
the display will now show a four-digit number with the left-most digit
blinking. Repeatedly pressing the MODE button will cycle that digit from 0
through 3. When you get the desired value, pressing SET will store the
value and the next digit will start blinking and the red MODE button
will cycle it 0 through 9. After storing all four
digits and pressing SET the final time, the computer will
exit the programming mode.
The value you want for the four-digit number depends on which wheel you
have and whether you want kilometers or miles as follows:

The Display
The display is divided into two parts: the top part indicates the speed in
either mph or kmh. The bottom part of the display indicates the time, the
total distance traveled (odometer), the distance traveled on the current
trip, and the time taken on the current trip (stopwatch function). The
current trip settings are re-zeroed after 4 hours of no activity.
The bottom display has several different modes that are controlled
by pressing the red MODE button on the bottom of the computer.
Programming
The Wodometer is shipped calibrated to indicate miles and mph for the wheel
size requested. If you change wheels or replace the battery you can
set the calibration in the following manner:
Junior Wheel
Senior Wheel
Wobust Wheel
Miles:
0390
0534
0574
Kilometers:
0629
0860
0924
